Sunni in Shia family

Question:

Assalam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu Shaykh Hisham,
I hope you and your family are doing well. I was a shia before I took bayyah with Maulana Shaykh Nazim in 2001 and became a sunni. I didn’t tell my parents, as they would have been very disturbed. They wanted me to get married to a shia girl. I consulted Maulana and he said it’s OK to do so, but not forcefully convert her into sunni. After marriage, I told my wife about my conversion. She was quite disturbed, but cooperated. We have a 1.5 yrs old daughter. My wife wants to raise her as a shia. I am afraid teaching my daughter sunni beliefs would expose my sunni conversion and disturb my parents and in-laws. Plus, I feel vastly outnumbered by them. Please advise me what to do, as I am very confused.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

She is still young. Wait until she becomes six, then a lot of changes are going to happen.
