Giving up share in inheritance

Question:

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
In my family, there is a great deal of conflict about an inherited piece of land that is being sold by the inheritors. One party says that fraud has been committed in the process, others say no fraud has been committed and are pushing for selling it because of financial need. As I am one of the inheritors, my agreement to the sale is needed for the process to continue. I am in no position to ascertain which side is right and would like to give up my share in this inheritance altogether in order to maintain good relations with family members and to avoid argument. Would Shaykh kindly advise if this is a solution that is pleasing to Allah SWT?

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakutuh,

Don’t give it up if it comes, alhamdullillah. Be neutral. If they sell it ok and if not don’t argue but leave it to Allah swt.
