Inheritance

Question:

Assalaamualikoum,

A mother is thinking of giving each child their inheritance. She has two daughters and a son. The son has never helped in matters about the house or looking after the mother. He has done nothing but cause grief, committed zana and adultery. The youngest daughter has fulfilled all the mothers wishes and is always helping her.Why is it that the son has to get twice as much as the youngest daughter?

Answer:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

Allah the Almighty says, ‘It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any opinion in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has indeed strayed into a plain error.” 33:36

The son may disobey his parents, but parents may disobey Allah and His Messenger if failed to give him what legally belongs to him.
