Asalamualikum,
I broke my engagement because the guy didn’t come to meet my father when my father went to his place. He said he was busy. His family also seemed money minded. The guy was sometimes good to me and sometimes bad and I couldn’t decide if he was good for me or not. I even had doubts about his character. I used to feel that from inside but then I finally broke the engagement. After that we faced many problems, my aunt got expired, my grandmother was hospitalized, there were quarrels between my parents, everything was being ruined. I want to know if all this is happening just because I broke that guys heart and now Allah is punishing me? I doubt if my decision was correct or not? I am very confused. I feel I took the correct steps but then I feel that is was not correct. Please guide me.

Your decision was correct and don’t worry. Trust your heart when turning to Allah with sincerity and all good things will come to you. Accept tests with a faithful heart and don’t worry.
