Shukran for your question. I am not a doctor, therefore I am not qualified to give medical advice. I did some research, and asked around. There are many opinions out there as to the causes and cures of autism. Some say it is from adverse environmental factors such as heavy metals and other toxins which find their way into the patient’s system. Some blame the use of vaccines, and others point to the use of hormones and pesticides in food production. These people often recommend severe dietary changes and sometimes a treatment called ‘chelation therapy’. Others disagree and say this treatment is unproven and possibly dangerous. Some point to the the presence of electromagnetic radiation which nowadays bombards all of us. You’ll have to research the vast amount of information out there and arrive at your own conclusions. May Allah guide your steps.
On the spiritual side of things, two things come to mind. First, Prophet, SallaLlahu alayhi wa salaam, recommended to “cure your diseases with sadaqa“. Secondly, there is a Hadith in the collection of Ibn Majah (Sunan, Book 1, Hadith 65) wherein the narrator states that one may recite, over a person afflicted with mental disorder, the names contained in the isnad (chain of transmission) of that hadith, namely; Ali Riddah, Musa Kazim, Jaffar as-Saadiq, Muhammad Baqir, Zain al-Abideen, Sayyiddina Hussein, Shahi Mardan Sayyiddina Ali (Kareemu’Llahi waj’humma). Ibn Majah accepted that narration.
