Vaccinations

Question:

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem

Assalamu ‘Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

My question is about vaccinations. Are they a blessing sent from Allah or a curse from Shayton? What is Mawlana’s advice in vaccinating ourselves and our children.

Thank you so much for all the advice you give us. It is much appreciated. May Allah grant you long life, excellent health and abundant blessings in assisting us on our return home.

Wasalam

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

Once Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani gave a talk, describing how to prepare our children for a world where Islam is not widely followed, where he said:

Just like when we use vaccines against illnesses, we put the same poison into the blood and it prepares the defense in the body. Sometimes we will get a short illness after a vaccination, which then goes away and the body is prepared.

Insha-Allah this is sufficient to understand.
