Can we perform more than two wazifas for same purpose at a time?

Question:

I read somewhere that we should do one wazifa at one time. Is it right as I am doing 3 to 4 wazifas. I also read that we should not do wazifa to marry some specific person as it is haram? Please guide me as I love someone and only intend to marry him.

AsSalaam alaikum,

If the wazifah is from your Shaykh then keep it first at a particular time he/she recommends and ask them if you don’t know what to recite.

If you are reading other wazifah it is for Baraka and reward and not connected to the guidance of a living teacher. Most turuq-spiritual paths have multiple daily recitations throughout the day and it enough to follow one particular set of devotions under a living guide as the sunnah has a large amount of dua beyond what one can carry daily. Do what you can keep with ease and don’t overburden yourself beyond what can be kept consistently.

If that person you seek knows and accepts you, see if marriage can be accomplished. If you are using spirituality to sway their emotions it is better to improve yourself as a human being inquire through regular means (between families) then let Allah decide. A sign of permission is ease.

WaAllahu Alam,

Kamau Ayubbi
