Ramadan Ithekaaf

Question:

Asalam, ulakum,

I am in need of advice, as my intention is to do ithekaaf for last 10 days of Ramadan Inshallah this year. I would like to know what I should read during the 10 days:
• To be totally connected to Allah SWT.
• To ask for forgiveness
• To feel cleansed?
• To clean my ego
Also, Inshallah I will be getting married soon after Ramadan and would like to know what I can read during the 10 days for a successful marriage inshallah?
Would it be permissible to listen to the recordings of the Quran whilst in ithekaaf, as I will be doing it at home and do not wish to listen to family in the other room? This way I can block out their noises and fully concentrate on zikr.

What is the etiquette of doing Ithekaaf?

JazakAllah Khair

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

You have permission. It is good to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (s). It is very good to listen to Quran and do awrad and dhikr from the Naqshbandi awrad book.
