Salawaat after the Adhaan

Question:

ASalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatuh,

I have a small question.

I have heard Maulana Shaykh in one audio, recite after the Adhan:

As Salaatu Wa Salaamu Alayk, Ya Man Arsala Hullahu T’ala Rahmatallil Alameen
As Salaatu Wa Salaamu Alayk, Wa A’la Alyka Wa Ashaabika Ajmaeen
As Salaatu Wa Salaamu Alaykum, Ya Ambiya Allah (as)

Is this particular to one Salaah?
Or can the Muezzin, read this for every Salah?

Sorry if this sounds trivial.

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

The muezzin can read this for every Adhan, it was a practice that was begun by Sultan Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi (may Allah be well-pleased with him) in Sham and Misir and is based on the hadith of the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) that after the muezzin makes adhan invoke blessings upon me (Bukhari and Muslim).
