Question:

Salaams

I need some guidance and am very sorry for inconveniencing you in any way at all.

My ex-husband and my childrens’ father has petitioned the court for full legal custody. He has said some bad things about myself and my new husband. I’m not sure what Allah wants from me or what I should do. It seems that if [private] and I want to stay married it’s going to be very difficult. I’m trying to pray everyday. I’m sorry I am just really worried and really scared my kids my babies are going to be taken from me. I’m not so good at keeping zikr so may I pay charity when ever I am able? I also have been asking my mom talk with my ex-husband because I don’t feel comfortable talking to a married man and have no intention of marriage with him. Is that okay?

Thank you and please remember people like us in your dua

Answer:

In-sha-Allah Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani is praying for you.
Yes, pay sadaqa whatever you are able. Your mom may talk with your ex on your behalf.

In-sha-Allah you will not lose custody.
