About bay’a

Question:

Salam aleykoum wa rahmatullah wa barakatouh,

I hope to find all the team in good health insha Allah.

I took bay’a through a murshid of Mawlana around two years ago but I was already in the tariqa Burhaniya. Though, even though I did inform the zawiya I was attending hadras of my decision, I never had the occasion to ask the sheikh of the tariqa. Therefore, I did quite criticize this tariqa for some things that were shocking me (like telling us to do Ramadan only 14 hours a day in summer in France) but I’m afraid I acted out of ignorance.

What should I do about this? Barakallahou fik.

Answer:

Audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm:

Allahumma Salli ala Muhammad wa ala alih.

Wa alaikum Salaam Wa Rahmatullah,

I’m not sure of the full question. As for fasting Ramadan you must follow one of the four Madhahib.

Wallahu Alam,

Kamau Ayubbi
