Requesting Advice From Mawlana Shaykh

Question:

Asalamu Alaykum Sayiddi,

Sayiddi, six years have passed since the day I came to know of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim Q.S and ever since I have been receiving inspiration that I should abandon this worldly life and go to some place remote and continuously worship Allah and praise Sayidena Muhammad (SAW) there.

I feel very peaceful when I contemplate on this matter. I feel as if my body is free from ego, lust and worldly desires during contemplation.

When I ask about my parents? I receive inspiration that Allah created them and that I can’t do anything for them. I will be committing Shirk if I were to think I can do anything for them and that my brother will take care of them when they’ll grow old.

Ya Sayiddi, guide me. Should I say Bismillah and divorce this world for the sake of Allah and Sayedina Muhammad (SAW)? Asalamu Alaykum.

Answer:

`Alaykum Salam,
Allah Most High commanded us to “lower the wing of mercy” to parents, and that includes every compassionate care possible. Our great-Grandshaykh Abu Yazid Bistami (q) received his spiritual keys by serving his parents day and night. Holy Prophet upon him blessings and peace called it real jihad and he assured us that as far as a man is concerned his parents are his door to Paradise. Yes you can do nothing for them independently of Allah but He has tasked you to do everything for them with His help, to support your family and raise pious children for His sake, to help your brothers near and far in the foosteps of Prophet and his saints; and that is the real abandonment of earthly life, not monasticism or celibacy.
