What is the hikmah behind reciting Quran in dark Salaat and not reciting in day salat

Question:

I just hear hikmah about subject question that Jinnat and shayateen are more powerful at night that is why to avoid sher of Shayateen and jinnat there is aloud recitation in dark salaat. I heart this in Nauman Ali Khan lecture can you validate this ?

Answer:

Allah says: qul a`udhu bi rabbi ‘l-falaq… wa min sharri ghasiqin idha waqab

Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak… from the mischief of Darkness as it overspreads. (Surat al-Falaq)

As to whether this is the reason for loud recitation by the Imam, we cannot say, though it is possible.

Shaykh Gibril Haddad says:

We recite Quran in all prayers both day and night. However, Allah Most High ordered Muslims to keep the day recitation muted and make the night one loud because the latter is more private while the former is more public and thus exposed the Quran to the jeers and ridicule of the unbelievers. This is mentioned in the Quran, tafsirs and the Sirah. Also spirituality is stronger at night.

Allah said:

Verily, the rising by night (for Tahajjud prayer) is very hard and most potent and good for governing oneself, and most suitable for (understanding) the Word (of Allah). Verily, there is for you by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties” ( al-Muzzammil 74:6-7)

Ibn Kathir in his Tafsir said:

The point is that this rising may be at any time of night. What is meant here is that when praying at night, both the heart and the tongue are focused on the recitation, hence Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “is very hard and most potent and good for governing oneself, and most suitable for (understanding) the Word (of Allah)” i.e., the mind will be more focused when reciting and will understand the words more than during the day, which is a time when people move about and there is a great deal of noise, and it is the time of seeking provision.
