My prayers go against me

Question:

Salaam,

I wanted to know if it is possible for black magic to cause your prayers to have the opposite result. As I don’t know what I am doing wrong, I pray my awrad, read the salawat book by Mawlana Shaykh Hisham, plus other wazaif and on this site. All my life I have had problems with my health, whatever I pray for I get the opposite occur. I pray to be saved from certain illnesses and I have gotten them all. I prayed my siblings be protected from what I have suffered but they are now also getting them. I read many durood and read bismillah 1000 x daily, but still my family problems persist. What am I doing wrong? Why does nothing go right

Answer:

Alaykum Salam,
All the black magic in the world from all time cannot lift a speck of dust from the ground were it not for the divine will (irada). Hence when you obey Allah you not only consciously place yourself under the divine will (as all things are in any case) but also under the divine good pleasure (rida) because Allah commanded prayer.

The problem is that we view duress as a curse whereas for the believer it is a blessing, “even a mosquito bite” as the Prophet (s) said. Another hadith states that trials for the believers are expiations and graduations or levels. And the angels are at the bedside of the suffering servants saying Amin to every duaa. It is win-win. Do not expect a soft path of roses in exchange for piety when the Prophets of Allah endured and bore with every enmity and disgrace with patience. Take stock, cheer up and keep steadfast on your duty as so many blessings already encompass you and the reward of the hereafter is much greater yet.
