Dream: Dream’s Validity

Dream:

Assalamualikum!

I have read that Prophet(s) has said that to tell a false dream is one of the greatest lies. This makes me scared as I doubt some dreams are just my imagination. So how can I distinguish a real dream from imagination?

My second question is that recently I had a dream. There were many nonsensical and unimportant parts except for one. I was told that “La ila ha ila anta subahanka inni kuntum minlallalimeen has many goodness”. Please help me interpret this dream and forgive me. Please pray for me to meet Imam Mahdi(as) and Isa(as) in person. I have great love for them and wish to be with them.

Jazakallah khayr!

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

Shaykh Hisham Kabbani has often said, there is no need to relate your dreams to others, as it is a kind of showing off.

In any case a real dream has its “stamp” of authenticity, such as seeing or hearing prophets, angels, awliyaullah, Quran, the House of Allah, masajid and so forth.

The du`a is:

La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu min azh-zhalimeen (al-Anbiya, 21:87) and truly it has many benefits.

The Prophet (s)  explaining this important du`a to one of his Companions said, “…[it is] the supplication of Dhun-Nun when he was in the belly of the fish: {There is no God but You, Glorified be You! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers} (al-Anbiya, 21:87). No Muslim ever prays to his Lord with these words for anything, but He will answer his prayer.” (Ahmad, Tirmidhi, and  an-Nasa’i in Al-Yawm wal-Laylah).
