Question:
I am, sunni, Barelvi Muslim, studying in USA University on USA based- bank Scholarship, confused about my scholarship because almost all banking system run on interest this bank is non-Muslim bank based in USA. Is this scholarship lawful for me or not?
Answer:
Even medieval Islamic jurists did not condition Muslim residence on the ability to govern Muslim minority community by Islamic law. From this we conclude that it is acceptable not only to live in a non-Muslim country but to take advantage of its bank scholarship.
