Dua in Sajdah

Question:

While going in sajdah during the routine fard salah after we have read Subhana Rabbi Yal Aala, can we make dua in our own language whatever we want to request Allah Tala or can we only recite the duas recited by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him in sajdah? Please advise. Can I  make dua in my language in sajdah that ‘O Allah increase my love for Rasool Allah, forgive me for the sake of Rasool Allah,’ and can I make in sajdah to send peace and blessings on Rasool Allah (saw).

Answer:

A`udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem

It is preferred to recite that which Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. did, and this is the best.
You may extend your last sajdah (before sitting to give Salam) and ask for your needs, but say it in your heart.

Any utterances with the tongue in the prayer must only be in Arabic.
