It is certainly allowed for a Murid of Mawlana to recite the Qasida Ghawthiyya since Grandshaykh Mawlana Shaykh Abd Allah, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, and Mawlana Shaykh Hisham have all frequently cited this poem which is attributed both to Abu Bakr al-Siddiq and to Shaykh `Abd al-Qadir al-Gilani (Allah sanctify all their souls and be well-pleased with them), particularly the last verse.
