Rings and covering feet

Question:

As salamwalekum

I have 2 questions please:
1. Does a lady have to cover her feet (with socks) during salat?
2. In which fingers can a lady wear rings and what is forbidden?

Jazakallakhair

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam,

1. It is permissible for a woman to expose during salat that part of her face which is washed during wudu‘; her hands up to the wrists, and her feet up to the ankles, both the back as well as the palms of hands and the soles of feet.

2. Imaam an-Nawawi (r) said: “The Muslims agreed that the Sunnah is for men to wear rings on their little fingers, but as for women, they may wear rings on all their fingers.” (Sharh an-Nawawi `ala Muslim; `Awn al-Ma`bood, 11/286).
