Recently I have been “talking” (in a halal manner) to an individual with the intention of marriage. We have not reached the engagement phase as of yet. I met him online, and he has made the effort to meet my family and speak to me in person. He seems to be a good guy, but for some reason something in me is holding me back.
At the same time, a coworker is attempting to “set” me up with an individual he knows. I have not yet given an answer as to whether or not I’m interested in getting to know this person. Last night I dreamt of an engagement ring made out of wood…the diamond on the ring broke/was broken. What could this mean?

Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm:
Wa `alaykumu s-salāmu wa rahmatu l-lāhi wa barakātuh,
It could mean that someone will propose but he is not suitable for you. Try to perform istikhara prayer if you still have doubt about your engagement until you have a clear answer inshaAllah, and Allah knows best.
