Question:
Assalamu’alaykum wr wb,
Dear Shaykh,
I read a hadith regarding Syaitan during the fasting month, Ramadhan. However I am still wondering are they really locked up/chained during this whole month physically? or how? Hope you could explain as I have not found a clear answer to this matter, insyaAllah.
P.S; this is the hadith:
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا دَخَلَ رَمَضَانُ فُتِّحَتْ أَبْوَابُ الجَنَّةِ، وَغُلِّقَتْ أَبْوَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَسُلْسِلَتِ الشَّيَاطِينُ»

How is unimportant, what matters is that we have greater control over our nafs and shaytan in that blessed month and this is a palpable reality. This is why the emphatic form was used in the verbs of the hadith: futtihat and ghulliqat with shadda instead of simply futihat and ghuliqat.
