Question:
Salam,
I just need to know how am I an Alhusayni? I know that my family is a syed but
other Syeds have family name’s like Alkaffs, Alhadads, Aljunieds.
My aunt said we’re a direct descendent . Is that why? Another thing is, a brother said it’s not possible for me to be an Alhusayni and that I should be an al abdi because Alhusayn was killed , if that so, then why do Isee other shayks/mawlana’s carrying the same family name as ours? Subahanallah, forgive me.

Listen to your aunt but keep it in your heart and move on with Salawat and good deeds as requested by your grandfather the Prophet (upon him blessings and peace) who said: “Don’t come to me with your lineage while others come to me with their deeds.”
