Assalamo alaikum,
I seek an urgent advice regarding a girl I want to marry and vice versa. My beloved mother and the rest of my family do not like her family as they think her family is immature and selfish and that they will lead to problems for us in the future, however they have no problem with the girl herself except that she is very short compared to me. I tried istakhara once on the advice of a sheikh but got no answer. The only reason my mother is not saying no is because she does not want to hurt our feelings but I can see she is not happy with this proposal. I am stuck in the middle. I don’t want to see my mother sad but I also do not want to ruin the girl’s life.

Perform wudu and two rakat nawafil prayers, and then recite the dua of the blind man (Dua at-Tawassul). Please see here. Then do munajat (intimate conversation) with Allah stating your issue in a humble tone (begging tone).
