Question:
Salaam ‘alaik,
There is hernia on my father’s intestines.
He has visited the hospital and we will have to make a decision soon regarding whether my father should undergo an operation to remove the hernia.
Is there a non invasive way to treat hernia?
I fear that my father’s body is too weak to undergo the rigours of surgery to remove the hernia; possible result is uncertain. Best case scenario is successful removal of hernia. The worst case scenario
What has Shaykh Hisham have to say about my father’s condition? Any traditional procedures to treat hernia?
Thank you very much.

Answer:
wa alaykum salam,
In-sha-Allah Mawlana Shaykh Hisham is praying for your father.
Hernia operation is in reality a spiritual operation as Mawlana Shaykh Hisham has explained. In fact both Grand Shaykh and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim had hernia as narrated by Mawlana Shaykh Hisham:
Grandshaykh ق came to Lebanon for the surgery in the holy month of Rajab. The hernia repair surgery was completely successful, and according to the doctors the eye surgery was also successful. But afterwards, Grandshaykh stopped eating. Why? We don’t know. He said he was in a complete seclusion. So we informed Mawlana Shaykh ق. He arrived in Beirut, and was very tired. He entered the hospital room of Grandshaykh and at that moment, Mawlana Shaykh began to have pain. My brother is a surgeon, and he discovered Mawlana Shaykh had the same kind of hernia! That is the station of “Fanā’un fi ’l-Mashaykh,” annihilation in the shaykh. If I am annihilated in you, I feel whatever happens to you and you feel whatever happens to me.
Mawlana has mentioned that hernia operation is a spiritual operation, not just physical, and therefore is different than other surgery. Today it is barely invasive with 2 very small incisions and they use tiny directed tools to fix the problem, in-sha-Allah. May Allah make it easy for your father.
