Assalamualiakum Sheikh Nazim and Sheikh Hisham,
10 years my two aunties and their families not spoken to us, dispute as my mum was favoured in will of grandparents. my cuzins hold resentment towards us, we contacted them but they act as though we are their enemies. i dont know what to do. Please direct us.
Also i had a dream after grandmother passed- in my grandparents house the rooms were filled with mattresses dark n gloomy, except my grandparents bedroom,inside was so beautiful,gold n green and mosque like from the inside, my grandfather was reading namaz and wearing the sufi clothing, i sat outside the room in the lobby next to my grandmother who was sat on a chair next to me, she told me not to worry and that they were fine. I miss them dearly, is this an indication that inshallah they will go to heaven?

Seeing someone in the dream after their death means their soul is free, not in punishment. Your grandmother assured you that they were fine and your grandfather praying in a beautiful decorated room with Sunnah clothes is a clear indication of his high station in akhira. Of a surety they will be in Paradise because the Prophet (s) said Whoever says la ilaha illa Allah enters Jannah.
The problem of inheritance is all too common. It is advisable to distribute wealth as one wishes prior to one’s death to avoid such controversies. All you can do at this point is pray that Allah makes your aunts’ hearts open to reestablish good relations. Keep good manners with your cousins when you see them, but do not worry about their estrangement because it is out of your hands.
