Question:
Bismehi Ta’ala:
As-Salamu Alaikum wr wb,
Alhamdulillah and may Allah Ta’ala reward you all for your kind service to us! Thank you for your time and efforts. Please, I’m sorry too write too much…. I took baya via Mawlana Shaykh Kabbani earlier this month and have had some experiences that I wanted to ask him about, but was unable to before he left for his trip. As Allah Ta’ala is my witness this is the truth: I drove home afterward by myself (about one hour drive). Refreshed myself with wudu, changed my clothes to pray, and returned to my prayer area. My eyes suddenly just looked down onto the floor and saw two small papers with Arabic writing on it. They were stuck together as if they had been torn very carefully and of very awkward shaped edges. Before I bent down to pick them up I knew they were an extraordinary appearance… salawat automatically rolled off my tongue before I touched them. I sat on my prayer rug amazed.
The next day (Sunday) my mind tried to rationalize what happened, but my heart knew it was extraordinary. On Monday when I got home for work in the afternoon I was feeling very tired. I made salat and laid down for a short nap. While I was falling asleep I was making dhikr and slept, feeling my heart beating very strongly, but not fast. When I woke up, I swung my feet over the side of the bed and my eyes “magnetically” looked down and saw 3 more small papers with Arabic writing. There are now four, about 1 inch by 1.5 inches (newspaper), and a tiny one that was trailing off to the side as if a wind had blow it to the side. I was holding dhikr and said to myself with certainty, these are signs. What is the meaning of these signs? Lastly, I have had a sweet taste in my mouth off and on for hours at a time since making Baya. Why is this?
p.s. I do not speak or read Arabic and have no Arabic newspapers in my house. I can send a photo of the papers or bring them to the Mosque, inshaAllah. JazakAllahu Khair!
Response:
wa `alaykum salam,
You have been blessed. You are holding onto true faith, therefore what is manifesting is:
Soon will We show them our Signs in the (furthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord doth witness all things? (41:53)
Our shuyukh teach us that unseen devoted servants of Allah are all about us, but most of us are blind to them. Grandshaykh said, as related to us by Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani that not a day passes but one wali must come and look at each of Allah’s servants from mankind. Awliya are sending you messages on these papers and these are “certificates” of your faith. The taste on your lips is from Paradise, and is the sweetness of Dhikr. That is knowledge of taste, `ilm al-adhwaq, as opposed to knowledge of papers, `ilm al-awraq, and is a higher level than receiving the papers. Continue what good you are doing, and while you may not always receive such “proofs” know that you are on the way of truth, haqq.
And Allah knows best.
