Salam alaykoum Mawlana,
I have a question regarding reciting vs listening to Qur’an. I have downloaded Qur’an to my Ipod and I love to listen to Qur’an every morning ahamdullah. Do you get the same benefits to listening vs reciting it? I also read somewhere that if you recite a Surah such as al Waqiah at night then money will always be coming in. but do we get the same benefit as listening to it? “I don’t care about the money part, I care more about being spiritually closer to Allah (swt)”

You get benefits in any case, but the more effort involved the more reward; thus reading gets more than listening, and reciting gets more than reading.
