Sayyed?

Question:

Asalaamoalaiykum
I had the privellage to go to Cyprus recently. When I met Maulana, he said something to me, which shocked me and confused me. He told me that I am a Sayyed, but I replied that I wasn’t, but he insisted, he gestured with his fingers and pointed at me, telling me that I am a Sayyed, then he asked me to pray for him. Also a few other people also said the same thing, whilst I was there, but I took no notice, untill Maulana said it. I thaught there might be a slight chance that my parents didn’t know, so when I got back home, I asked my parents, but they categorically denied, saying that it was impossible, due to the familly lineage. I am not doughting Maulana’s statements, but I am confused as to what this means. Coul’d you please give me an answer, Jazak’Allah

Answer:

wa `alaykum salam

Our advice is to trust Mawlana’ s spiritual disclosure above your parents’ knowledge and to ponder and welcome this glad tidings with open arms.
