Dream:
Assalamualaykum,
I had a lot of nightmares about a dog constantly chasing me through out life, but after a while it was finally tied up to a tree but barked at me. And I had a another dream and in this one the dog was licking curry off the spoon on the sink counter at my house, and I shouted at it saying ‘Hey! don’t do that!” something along those lines, it suddenly shook feeling scared and fell in the sink. Then I think i forgot about the dog and walked away into another room but then asked my father why it was brought in the house in the first place. What does it mean?

Interpretation:
a`udhu billah mina ‘sh-shaytani ‘r-rajeem
Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmani ‘r-Raheem
The dog here represents your ego and its desires. Alhamdulillah, it was finally tied to the tree and a control was put on it. It was still barking meaning it will never leave you alone.
The Prophet (s) said: “O Allah don’t leave me to my self for the blink of an eye or even less than that.” That is the great struggle (jihad) against the nafs. When you were firm and limited its desires, the dog shrank away. In sha Allah, the dream is a sign of spiritual support from awliya (spiritual fathers) coming to give you more control over your self.
