Dream: Ring & Broken Sword

Dream:

Assalamu Alaykum
I was in a school which had 3 shops. I visited having travlled along way on cycle. I was wearing damascus steel sword on belt. I went into 1 shop and got a ring (pink stone) and wore it on right hand. I also saw a bow & arrow I liked and wanted. Whilst travelling to next shop, someone asked to look at ring and put his thumb over it and wouldnt let go (didnt see who it was just there hand holding my ring). I pulled my hand away thinking he is taking all my energy. The stone disappeared when I pulled my hand away. I was upset, then it began to come back on the ring in liquid form and I shaped it again but it was flat still pink. I then started to pick up pieces of my sword as it was broken.

Interpretation:

wa `alaykum salam,

Allah describes the believers:

{Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur’an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah. then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.} (Surat at-Tawba, 9:111)

Riding a bicycle represents spiritual journeying. The stores represent three levels of purchase you are making:
1) your person
2) your goods (wealth)
3) Paradise itself, selling Paradise in exchange for Allah’s Pleasure.

Regarding the last, some great awliyaullah, in particular exemplified by Sayyida Rabi`a al-Basriyya al-`Adawiyya, used to say:

“O Allah if I worship You for fear of Hell, burn me in Hell; and if I worship you in hope of Paradise exclude me from Paradise; but if I worship You for Your own sake, grudge me not Your everlasting beauty”.

These three purchases go in parallel with the following spiritual accomplishments:
1) they fight their selves in the Cause of God,
2) they slay their own selves for the Love of Allah
3) they are slain by their spiritual guides on the threshold of the Allah’s Divine Presence, as symbolized by Paradise.

These three levels are in turn symbolized by three Holy Books:
1) Torah
2) Gospel
3) Quran

Losing the ring and it being restored, and the sword being broken all relate to discarding the self and its desires. The sword is la ilaha ill ‘Llah and you must break it over your ego, and you must give up the gems and all beauties you seek until your only one and sole purpose is Allah’s Divine Pleasure, at which time you will find the bow and arrow you sought, ie. ascension to the station of qaba qawsayni aw adna, {two bow’s-length or nearer} for each believer has an ascension whenever he makes salat, and that is in perfect imitation of our master and guardian Prophet Muhammad, may Allah exalt him and grant him peace.

Mabruk for this beautiful allegorical dream, may you receive all the stations which it illustrates.

And Allah knows best.
