Assalamu alaikum,
I have a 7 year old nephew, my sisters son. Recently he’s been getting really upset regarding how some children have been treated by the Imam at mosque, it almost feels like he’s being influenced. He repeatedly states that Christians don’t hit their children so why do Muslims. His mother is a single parent and treats him with utmost affection. How can we bring him closer to Islam and is there anything we can pray to calm his anger.

The practice of the Imam in your local mosque is inappropriate That’s not the way to educate children about our deen in this age and time. Our recommendation is to take the boy to another mosque. If it is impossible then you teach him – do your best and Allah (swt) will soften his heart towards Islam.
