Question:
I have witnessed severe domestic violence/physical/emotional abuse to my mother. By the good grace of Allah – my parents separated when I was 14, and then it was the end of suffering and beatings. I recently heard that my father lives near a city in Medina and also heard that he is spreading false rumours about me to his relatives….that I have boyfriends and wear inappropriate clothing (untrue) My father also used to severely beat my older brothers – My father also claimed to be extremely religious, but his actions towards his family was monster-like. Am I still obliged to care for a father who hates me? Is it normal behavior to hate own kids with such passion? am I still required to inquire about him or in future ask him how he is doing?….What if he Help….and please do dua for me for a good husband?
