Question:
Assalam-o-Alaikum!
May Allah’s divine light, peace and love be with Shaykh Nazim, Shaykh Hisham and all AwliyAllah and their followers…
Ya sayyidi, my family is deciding to move in a house near graveyard… I am very scared about it as according to many spiritual personalities, evil jinns dwell in such places.. I know that reading Quran stop them from coming, but peace don’t come to my heart and I am scared and not satisfied but my family is determined to move to that house… Please ya sayyidi guide as there is no guidence for us except the holy books and holy saints… Do jinns really dwell in such places??? Should we move there or not??? My question is for Shaykh Hisham or Shaykh Gabriel…
Jazak-Allah Khairan
Answer:
Wa alaykum as-Salam,
Amin. In the Middle East it is so common for people to live near graveyards in old cities as space is limited. Whatever jinn presences are there respect enclosure and do not trespass their bounds, as proximity and distance do not matter for them but boundaries do. Nevertheless, Muslim graveyards are blessed places. The scary stories are from Jahiliyya or non-Muslim culture and they are completely irrelevant. We should be seeking refuge from the evil of our own human ego as it is more harmful than all the cemeteries of this earth put together.
