Is there any way people could find out who their descendants are or if they are a Syed? I’ve always been interested to find out who my lineage goes back to but have no helpful information to find out. Is there any dua or prayer I could do to find out who I am a descendant of if I am a descendant of someone. Do awliya of Allah have any way they could find out someones descendants. My name is [private] and my parents names are [private] and my mothers maiden name is [private]. my grandfather has told me that his grandfather was a imam at a masjid in Pakistan for 40 years and people started to call him Sufi. That is why my surname is Soofi.

Clearly the trustworthy way is to locate a family tree (shajara). While dreams might indicate something they are not a firm proof, unless you see a clear dream where the Prophet (s) informs you of this.
