It is important for both of you that she accept you but she might need time to adjust to the idea. Tell her you will love and honor her son, help him and support him. Tell her you may not be from the same country but Allah guided you and raised you with Islam and your real home country is Paradise in sha Allah. With patience and dua she will accept you.
