Assalaamu alaikum,
I love my parents dearly but they will not allow me to marry anyone. I am 24. I am reciting ya Fattah, ya Jabbar and durood Tunjiyya . I am also reciting Astaghfirullah al-‘Azheem and Hasbunallah wa ni’ma l -waleel.
I have asked my father what his criteria is but he does not respond and gets angry every time I mention marriage. I even begged him to choose any suitor and I will agree but he does not accept any proposal. I received a proposal some months ago from a man with good character but my father rejected it. I have pleaded with my parents, but my father says if ‘no good suitor’ comes along I will have to remain unmarried for the rest of my life. I have tried to get other elders to convince him but it hasn’t worked. Please make dua for me.
