Question:
I would like to know if it is possible for an Ahl Sunnah wa jamaat girl to marry a wahabi guy? I know a wahabi guy and he wants to marry me, I know him to be of very good character. however he has told me he is wahabi even if his family are all Ahl Sunnah wa jamaat. People have told me that is not a idea to accept the proposal. Please advise.
Answer:
It is permissible but not advisable. If, after all, you decide to marry a wahabi guy, make sure that he does not consider your marriage a temporary one (mut’ah). The four Imams unanimously agreed that this kind of marriage is forbidden. Our advise would be to have all details and conditions stipulated in a marriage contract signed by both of you before the present witnesses.
