What is the correct view on the authenticity of the hadith of “I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate” :
انا مدينة العلم وعلي بابها فمن اراد العلم فليات من بابها
Is it Mawdu, Sahih or Hasan (as in the view of Ibn Hajar)

The Hadith master Ibn Hajar al-`Asqalani in al-Ajwiba `ala al-Qazwini at the end of al-Baghawi’s Masabih al-Sunna (Ma`rifa ed. 3:1791) and at the beginning of al-Qari’s Mirqat al-Mafatih (Fikr ed. 1:548-549) said that this hadith was da`if (weak) and possibly hasan (fair).
