Clothes during 40 days after childbirth not to be used again

Question:

As Salam o Alaikum,
What does Islam say about the clothes that a woman and child wear during the 40 days after childbirth?

Is it allowed to use those dresses again after 40 days or should those clothes be thrown away or burned. Please clarify.

Answer:

As-Salamu ‘Alaikum,

Some of the traditions are culturally inspired and have no religious implications. This is one of them.
