Asalaamualaykum Sultan Shaykh Nazim, Shaykh Hisham and respected eshaykh staff,
I appreciate you have posted many answers to the permissibility of masturbation in Islam, however I am ashamed to say my huge ego takes advantage of differing views and doubts I have into if and when it is permissible.
I would very much like Mowlana Shaykh Hisham’s view on the matter, especially if done by an unmarried male, without the fear of committing a bigger sin as this would force me and many others to confront our egos and remove this habit.
I eagerly await a reply, Jazakallah, much appreciated.

The intended meaning of the Aayat is clear. Allah Taãla has praised the believers for guarding their private parts from that which He has made forbidden for them. Allah has permitted them to approach their wives and slave-girls. Thereafter, these words of Allah Taãla follow: ‘Whoever seeks beyond that which is lawful are oppressors who overstep from Halaal (permitted) towards Haraam (prohibited). Therefore masturbation is haram.
