Is it permissible to name a baby girl Hooriyah (angel of jannah)?
Answer:
Muslims choose a name with a righteous meaning, that will bring blessings to the child. It is reported that Prophet (pbuh) said: “On the Day of Resurrection, you will be called by your names and by your fathers’ names, therefore give yourselves good names.” (Abu Dawud)
The proposed name Hooriyah has a nice meaning and is recommended to be given.
