Salaam alaykum,
Before I became more religious, I would talk to members of the opposite sex via text message, although this usually entailed informal conversation it did not have any “sexual undertones.”
Recently one of these boys contacted me, I responded saying I have no need to converse with you yet they persisted and mentioned how one should still keep in touch with their past acquaintances.
Could you please shed some light on gender relations in Islam and in particular to how one should treat this guy? With hostility? Rude? Harsh?Respectful?
