Question:
Salam alykum. Is it haram to work in the same store that sells alchohol?
Answer:
Waalaykumussalam.
The Prophetic hadith explicitly states that “Jibril came to me and said, Verily Allah has cursed alcoholic drink; its producer; its commissioner; its drinker; its carrier; its receiver; its seller/the beneficiary of its price; its purchaser; its server; and the one for whom it is served.”

If one that works in such a store is none of the above categories except as the partial beneficiary of the sale of alcoholic drink then he is “partially” cursed — to say the least — and his income is partially haram (without him knowing which part exactly).
Shaykh Yusuf Qaradawi and the European Fiqh Council said it is halal to work in a store that sells alcohol and in this respect they have strayed from the truth and may have caused countless others to fall under the purview of the above hadith. The would-be advisors and their helpless victims have all become one of the signs of the end of times whereby the haram will be misrepresented as halal.
And Allah knows best.
