Question:
I made 2 promises to Allah (I said in my dua,”Allah, I promise to…”). I could not live up to my promises & broke them. I have repented & asked Allah to give me a sign if he has forgiven me & I got the sign BUT I did not fast for 3 days/ free a slave/clothe ten people/ feed 10 poor people 2 meals each. I have told Allah that I will give the poor food however I haven’t been able to locate them in the country I live in; nobody back home is willing to help. I will do this when I go back home. It has been quite awhile since I broke the promises. Is there a dua to ask Allah if He is still angry? What should I do in the meanwhile? I asked something else from Allah & there’s no answer. Maybe He has not forgiven me
Answer:
As-Salamu `Alaykum,
{He is the One that accepts repentance from His Servants and forgives sins: and He knows all that ye do.} Surat ash-Shura 42:25
As you can see from the above verse from the Qur’an, Allah will forgive you if you sincerely repent. In the meantime, fast for three days if you can.
