In the UK, the govt gives 25p for every £1 I donate to charity. There are many Islamic charities in my city that will use the money I donate for charity but they will keep the 25p the govt. gives for themselves for bills, wages, food etc.
I’m sure I heard a hadith that all money generated by charity money MUST go to poor people.
Is there a hadith that states that all money must go to charity or are these charities ok to keep the additional money the government donates for themselves?

Wa Alaykum Salam,
As long as the government does not oppress its Muslims and uses charity money to help the poor and disadvantaged it is permissible to give and donate to Islamic charities in your city.
