Question:
I currently work for [private] for 8.5 yrs. I graduated about 10 years ago with a degree in IT. Now my company is going through much change and offering VR. I am thinking to take the VR and leaving [private] and using that money to go do a pgce teaching course for 1 year, full-time and then embarking on a career as a teacher. But as this is a life changing decision and I have a family to feed and a mortgage and bills to pay I am split on whether I should do this or stay and continue to work for [private]. I did istikhara 2 nights in a row but haven’t had any clear indication as to what do.
I was wonder if you could do istikhara for me or advice?
JazakAllah
Answer:
If the company is intent on downsizing you then you have no choice but to take their offer. Take the course but watch expenses for a year. After that short time your livelihood will be regular again in sha Allah, and you can slaughter a sheep and feed the poor after you resume working.
