AssalamoAlaikum,
As many couples in love, we are facing difficulties convincing our parents. The brother I wish to get married to is trying hard from his side, however his father being the authority figure in the family is not convinced. We haven’t taken matters to my family yet as we decided it was best to convince the boy’s family first. I want guidance to know if we both are indeed meant for each other as man and wife.
We have been a happy couple, but the stress of getting married to each other is taking its toll and we are facing lots of inner doubts and confusions and arguments.

Make a conscious decision to not openly disregard the wishes of your respective parents. Rather, give them time just as you gave yourselves time, and do not doubt yourselves but be patient. In sha Allah they will eventually support your intention.
