Asalamualaikum warehmatallah,
I am a mureed of a Naqshbandi Sheikh…I respect him immensely…However I felt drawn towards Sheikh Nazim but I was reluctant to take bayah owing to my sheikh…I was chatting with some mureed on Haqqanisoul.com who said taking bayah with Sheikh Nazim would be noor upon noor..I was just waiting for something like this to be said and I instantly took bayah along with another mureed of Sheikh Nazim…but now after reading to some of the posts on bayah I feel terribly guilty as to not have taken permission from my Sheikh…Since I don’t meet him often (he stays quite far) I can’t rectify my mistake of seeking his permission immediately…..please guide

Baya` tabarruk, the baya` for blessings is “Light upon Light”, so don’t worry. You are still in baya` to your Shaykh and must keep adab with him. If you feel at some point, you want to make baya` of mureed to Shaykh Nazim, then you should obtain permission from your living murshid.
