As-salamu `alaykum Mawlana Shaykh Hisham and TEAM:
A spiritual person told me that if I keep old spiritual books in my house containing talisman and so on, it can have a negative effect on the house, as not everyone is supposed to read or keep these books because they have certain spiritual beings with them. These books are available in Egypt. They are sold in Sufi libraries here. Please advise. And what about books like Al Futuhat Al Makkeyyah by Shaykh Ibn Arabi?

Follow that advice. Futuhat may be kept in the house but not read without special permission.
