Question:
Salaam to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, Shaykh Hisham & all staff at eShaykh.
I recently took baya through the internet and have been doing muraqabah every night, Sometimes when I am sitting meditating I think about Allah and all the sins I have committed and I yearn to be closer to Allah and Shaykh – this often brings tears to my eyes & I just want to cry. Is this wrong? I try to stop myself because I feel as though the muraqabah should be a way of trying to reach Allah through Shaykh and not about repenting etc.
Also, I intend to do each step of muraqabah 40 days to gain as much as possible. When on my period I do muraqabah without the 2 rakaats – sometimes with wudhu sometimes without. What is the best way? Because I don’t want to miss a day from the 40 days
Answer:

BismillahirRahmanirRahim:
Wa alaikum Salaam,
That urge to cry is correct and will draw you nearer to the Shaykh, Prophet (sws) and Allah (swt) by repentance. This is the reality of Tawba, turning to Allah that brings you under the intercessory power of the Shuyukh and Prophet (sws) and Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.
There is no wudu during your monthly period. You can however keep zikr including tahlil, salawat and istighfar during your period, and meditation is okay. Wallahu Alam.
